As of time of writing, government regulated price for 14kg cylinder is RM26.60. Base on my survey from people staying around my area, home delivery convenient price for 14kg cylinder price is in the range of RM32-35. However if you don't mind to spend a little effort and do some exercise, you can actually save about 23% of the RM32 spending. How? you may ask:

Step 1: locate a nearest Petronas station that sell cylinder gas then you can self pickup and buy at regulated price of RM26.60. https://www.mymesra.com.my/for-consumer/promotions/lpg-at-station

Step 2: purchase with Maybank Amex credit card on weekend and you will get 5% cashback rebate that's 26.6*5%=1.33 discount, and you are gaining 5x treat points too, to make it simpler I will exclude treat points from the saving.

Step 3: present them with your Mesra card and entitled for 80 points, each point actually worth RM0.01 which you can eventually use to pump petrol or deduct for future purchase in Petronas station, so it translate to RM0.80 credit.

Actual cost for you is 26.60-1.33-0.80= 24.47

For purchase price of RM32, hence actual saving is 32-24.47= 7.53 per cylinder, which is 7.53/32=23.5% discount in exchange for convenient.

If each cylinder can last you 1.5 months means you need to consume 8 cylinders per year, that equal to 8*7.53=RM60.24 saving per year or equivalent to buy 4 cylinders free 1 cylinder. That might not sound a lot, but for a small household that may be able to pay off 1 month electricity bill or 6 months water bill for free. The choice is yours.

Below are different saving rates for different purchase prices :

RM33 is 8.53/33=25.8%

RM34 is 9.53/34=28%

RM35 is 10.53/35=30%

Disclaimer: I hear you, some said it's a waist pain endeavor, so make sure you have your medical insurance or socso intact before you try this stunt at home. But honestly what you need most is exercise, so you can have your cake and eat it too.
